Can anyone help me with finding info on Bertha Charboneau. I have no access to Canadian records, but do know her husband's name was Morris. I believe she was an aunt of my great grandfather Joseph Goulet. I also believe she immigrated to Ashland, Wisconsin after her husband died as she was living in Canada at the time. So I'm trying to find her family and how she ties in with my great grandfather. Can anyone help?

Hi, thanks for all that great information! I know for a fact that Bertha wasn't Josephs mother even though that's what it says on a few census records, his mother's name was Agnes Lavigne, I have documents for that. I also have his 1904 naval registration naming Bertha as next of kin saying she was his aunt. There is a possible relative listed as a border in the 1910 census I believe named Cecelia charboneau but I'm unable to find out if they are related. I'm sure they are, but can't get that family line figured out. Want to try? The password is mytree if you want to see the info on my website. Thanks again

I would like to help, but I'm chasing my own smoke right now. Good luck. If there is anything specific I can check for on Ancestry for you, let me know.

BTW: I finally bit the bullet 8 years ago and signed on to Ancestry. My tree blossomed from there. Expensive, but worth it. You can download a GEDCOM to it.
